Botox Generation

Botox Generation

I wonder when Botox became really rife? Watching contemporary television programmes such as Desperate Housewives and the like, it seems really obvious to me that they’ve all had either a little bit of ‘help’ or in some cases, quite a lot – naming no names (Teri Hatcher). But if we rewind time and look at the classic show Twin Peaks, what are the chances of the female stars having had Botox at that point in the 1990s? Botox has been More

Twin Peaks’ Dale Cooper Character Bio

Dale Cooper is a fictional character from Twin Peaks, a television series, where he is cast as an FBI Special Agent. Who to tell maybe he has army kit insurance or would it be FBI kit insurance–Hmmm. Actor Kyle MacLachlan portrayed this character role. He has an autobiography which he called My Life, My Tapes. This autobiography is the result of his popular habit of recording spoken word tapes into his microcassette recorder. More

The Gilmore Girls is Great!

The Gilmore Girls is Great!

Earlier this year I was working evening shifts and taking full advantage of all that daytime television has to offer. I stumbled across The Gilmore Girls on an obscure channel at about three o clock in the day and I haven’t looked back since. It’s rare to watch a drama depicting a genuinely loving and fun family dynamic, in this instance the relationship between a mother and daughter. This is one I’m definitely going to have to make some storage More

Directed by Peter Frumkin and Olympia Stone, Extreme Engineering ( known in the US as ’Build It Bigger’) is a documentary television show that focuses on the world of modern architecture and design. It has been one of the most successful television shows filmed on Discovery Channel and has revealed the details around some of the most complicated and interesting architectural projects.

Ultimate Big Brother!

I’ve been in two minds about Ultimate Big Brother. Part of me loves the idea of shoving all of the big characters and previous winners from the past ten years in to one house and seeing what happens. However the other part of me thinks that putting them all together just highlights that they’re all a bunch of boring wannabes with too much blonde hair dye and numerous fake boobs, along with a bunch of boys wearing mens xxxl shirts. Not Quite Crazy for Mad Men... Yet

Ever since Lost limped off our screens, I’ve been looking for a new drama series to get, well, lost in. I’ve tried and failed to get into a number of shows, including the unfeasible antics of Prison Break, and the uninspiring cop shows Southland and (whisper it) The Wire. Another much lauded U.S. series, Mad Men, is being repeated from the very beginning on BBC Two, with back-to-back episodes every Sunday night. The perfect opportunity, I thought, to harness More

Universal - My Personal Fave

posted by admin in Uncategorized

I have to say that I cannot think of another production company that consistantly produces the excellent level of television programs that Universal continuely does! Although if you were to ask me my favourite program then the answer is no contest at all, and surprisingly it is a show that was made in the very early 90s! It was directed by David Lynch and is called Twin Peaks, and pretty much revolves around a small town in which everyone is wondering who killed Laura?

If you like strange, and rather surreal shows then you will love this, in my mind no TV show (possibly with the exception of Carnivale, but that is not Universal so we will ignore it) has been this well written since. I think the key to that is that they entire series (which is supposed to be six seasons, unfortunately they stopped it at two) was written before the first episode was shot! So the character arcs and storylines are not only believeable but also intensly interesting!

That aside, watch this space for all the news and exciting events that are happening in the world of Universal!
